It does make sense up to a certain point considering that the users won’t like having cables hanging down to a client device. ![]() But why do you actually need it? Let me give you an example about a networking device that has removed any Ethernet port with the exception of the one for PoE and I am talking about ceiling-mountable wireless access points. I have had the chance to test a few dedicated WiFi extenders and have configured a few access points to work as WiFi extenders as well and yes, all had at least an Ethernet port.
